Listening Exercise: Our Solar System + Ed-Puzzle

Our solar system is made up of eight planets that orbit around the Sun, which is a giant star at the center.

The four inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and is very hot during the day but freezing at night.

Venus is known for being the hottest planet because of its thick atmosphere that traps heat.

Earth is special because it has water and supports life, while

Mars, often called the “Red Planet,” has a reddish color due to iron oxide on its surface and has ice caps.

The four outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and has a big storm called the Great Red Spot that has been raging for hundreds of years.

Saturn is famous for its beautiful rings made of ice and rock particles.

Uranus is unique because it rotates on its side, making it look different from all the other planets.

Finally, Neptune is the farthest planet from the Sun and has strong winds in its atmosphere. Each planet has its own characteristics that make them fascinating to study!
